PRINCIPAL

IAN ROBERTSON

BA  LLB

Ian established Ian Robertson & Co (now Robertson Toomey) over 25 years ago. Prior to that he worked in law firms in both  New Zealand and London. He provides legal expertise in a wide range of areas including:

​

·       Buying and selling houses;

·       Buying and selling rural property and

        farms;

·       Commercial property transactions;

·       Subdivisions and Leasing;

·       Commercial and Business Law;

·       Family Trusts and Estate Planning;

·       Wills and Enduring Powers of

        Attorney; and

·       Relationship Property Division.

Outside of the office, Ian has an active sporting and family life. He enjoys a wide range of outdoor activities including cycling, surfing, and enjoys competing in multi-sport events.

PRINCIPAL

JEROME TOOMEY

 LLB

Jerome has been a solicitor since 1998 working both in New Zealand and overseas. Prior to becoming part of Robertson Toomey Lawyers Jerome was a partner for 8 years at a mid sized law firm in Christchurch and developed expertise in property and commercial law as well as banking, family trusts, wills and estate planning.

Jerome is able to assist you with:

  • buying and selling property (both residential and commercial)

  • leasing commercial property;

  • commercial and business law;

  • family trusts and estate planning; and

  • wills and enduring powers of attorney.


Jerome prides himself on his accessibility to clients and for providing sound, pragmatic and realistic advice to assist in their day-to-day transactions.

ASSOCIATE

TRUDY ROBERTSON

LLB (Hons)

Trudy has been a lawyer at Ian Robertson & Co (now Robertson Toomey) for the past 22 years. Prior to that she was a senior staff nurse working in the Christchurch Emergency Department.

 

Trudy will assist you with: ​

​

·       Separation and Divorce;

·       Relationship Property Division;

·       Separation Agreements;

·       Contracting Out Agreements;

·       Childcare Agreements and

        Parenting Orders;

        Estate Planning;

·       ACC Law;

·       Mental Health Law and

        Compulsory Treatment Orders.

 

​Trudy is a member of the Family Law Section of the New Zealand Law Society and has been on the Canterbury Mental Health Roster for the past 18 years. She is also registered as an approved Legal Aid Provider with the Ministry of Justice.  Outside of work Trudy enjoys a wide range of family and sporting activities.

Billy

Billy welcomes people to Robertson Toomey at the front door. He appears on a part-time basis and has received rave reviews for his work.
